Kia ora, Kia Orana, Talofa lava, Malo e lelei and greetings to all Ferguson families and whanau.
Thank you to all parents and whanau for your support during 2019.
Congratulations to our Year 8 students on graduating from Ferguson, you have done very well and we wish you all the best for Year 9 and beyond in Secondary School, our advice to all Year 8’s is, “remain at school and complete Year 13, you can do it!”
2019 has been a very successful year at Ferguson. Participation and achievement in sports and culture has been outstanding. Achievement in Reading, Writing and Mathematics has improved during the period 2016 to 2019 and this year over 60% of Year 7 and 8 students have achieved towards Level 4 or Level 4. This achievement is in line with national norms.
We are a PB4L school (Positive Behaviour for Learning) and the result of this is a reduction in bullying and cyber bullying. We look forward to greater parent involvement in the new decade (2020) to promote our school’s key value, RESPECT.
The staff, BOT and I would like to wish all whanau and students a happy and safe holiday and we look forward to welcoming back all Year 7 students to complete their Year 8 at Ferguson in 2020.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
