Kia Ora, Kia Orana, Talofa lava, Malo e lelei and greetings to all Ferguson families and whanau.

I am proud and honoured to serve as Principal of Ferguson Intermediate School. As Principal, my goal is to inspire staff, students and community to achieve our Mission Statement of striving to become a "High Performing School". We can achieve this through our school motto of "Mahi Tahi" (collaboration and working as one).

I am very pleased that the Board of Trustees, staff and whanau are all working together as a supportive team to motivate and promote our students in their pursuit of academic, sports and cultural excellence and also their personal wellbeing  in a caring and safe learning environment.

During these challenging times of a pandemic, I believe that promoting "learner agency" is important for our students to be successful, connected and lifelong learners. Students must learn to manage themselves and use a range of online tools responsibly while learning remotely.

We are a PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) school and the result of this is for our staff and students to demonstrate  our school values of respect, responsibility, resilience and safety within and out of school.

We look forward to consolidating and building on the partnership between school, whanau and community.

Ronnie Govender

Principal
